Wrong, because incompatible with the realities of the knowledge economy, in our opinion, are the fundamental assumptions on which it is based and formed Polish education. Times have changed. Education ceased to be brightening torch of darkness, and became an airtight space isolation from the modern world. Polish education is not educated intellectual and social capital for our time. Polish education is not preparing for the future. Such constructive, leading to real change we want to initiate a discussion of what the holidays. Let us remember that the future begins today. Our analysis constructed on the principle of confrontation coming down from the stage of the industrial model of education and education era of the knowledge economy. One symptom of this change is that the school ceased to be the main source of providing knowledge. Defined ten major trends affecting today’s educational environment. Adapting to new realities makes the indispensable need for a radical redefinition of the one used previously paradigm. Our diagnosis of the Polish education is critical – we expose her strong maladjustment to the changing world. The fundamental, systemic weakness, this maladjustment diagnosed, it creates a gap between education and the expectations and requirements of the labor market, business and economy. That vulnerability affects both the form and content of education. World turn of the twentieth and twenty-first century is the era of information society, knowledge-based economy, Tofflerowska third wave. Its rules of the game are determined by the ever faster changing reality in which the only constant element and some change. Living environment, education and employment is becoming less stable and predictable, and the operation and petrification spheres isolated from the trends occurring in the environment creates the illusion of control and the illusion of order, painfully verified after leaving their walls.
